In Bosnia and Herzegovina there were 8.26 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 317 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 252 were men suicides and 65 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 13.41 per 100,000 men and for women 3.32 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Bosnia and Herzegovina suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 90 homicides in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.5 suicides.
