Austria has a very high suicide rate

In 1961 occurred 1,547 suicides in Austria. This year, 82 fewer people committed suicide than in 1960. In 1961, on average 4 Austrians committed suicide every day.

Of the 1,547 recorded suicide cases in 1961, 1,033 were men suicides and 514 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 31.3 per 100,000 men and for women 13.6 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
