Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Algeria suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 650 homicides in Algeria, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.7 suicides.
