Portuguese CPI increased up to 2.8% year-on-year in January of 2008

The annual variation rate of the CPI in Portugal in January of 2008 was 2.8%, 1 tenth higher than the month before.The monthly variation rate of the CPI (Consumer Price Index) has been -0.1%, and thus the accumulated inflation in 2008 is -0.1%

We must highlight the increase of 2.2% in the prices of Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, until its interannual rate reached 3.9%, which is in contrast to the decrease in the prices of Clothing and footwear of -14.4%, and an interannual variation of 3%.
