Since June 2009, the national minimum wage in Hungary remained fixed at €253.1 per month, that is 3,037 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Hungarian forints, which is the official currency in Hungary, we can see that, this year, it was 71,500 Hungarian forints and accordingly, the national minimum wage has remained stable, while the CPI of 2009 which was 5.7%, so workers have lost purchasing power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Hungary is in 33 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 92 of the list.
