The national minimum wage increase in Ecuador

In 2010, the national minimum wage in Ecuador remained fixed at €166.6 per month, that is 1,999 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in United States dollars, which is the official currency in Ecuador, we can see that, this year, it was 240 United States dollars and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 22 United States dollars per month from the previous year, 10.09%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2009 which was 4.3%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
