Canada rises the national minimum wage

In 2009, the national minimum wage in Canada remained fixed at €904.5 per month, that is 10,854 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Canadian dollars, which is the official currency in Canada, we can see that, this year, it was 1,537.5 Canadian dollars and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 90.2 Canadian dollars per month from the previous year, 6.23%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2008 which was 1.2%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
