The national minimum wage increase in Brazil

In 2014, the national minimum wage in Brazil remained fixed at €222.3 per month, that is 2,668 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Brazilian reals, which is the official currency in Brazil, we can see that, this year, it was 724 Brazilian reals and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 46 Brazilian reals per month from the previous year, 6.78%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2013 which was 5.6%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
