In 2019 Zambia public debt was 19,827 million euros22,197 million dollars, has increased 2,1721,346 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 91.9% of Zambia GDP, a 14.66 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 77.24% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Zambia debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 2,258 million euros 3,149 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 20.52%.
According to the last data point published, Zambia per capita debt in 2019 was 1,110 euros1,243 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 993 euros 1,173 dollars, afterwards rising by 117 euros70 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 167 euros233 dollars .
The position of Zambia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 168 in the list of debt to GDP and 60 in debt per capita, out of the 188 we publish.
