In 2016 Zambia public debt was 11,480 million euros 12,708 million dollars, has decreased 439 516 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 60.67% of Zambia GDP, a 1.59 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 62.26% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Zambia debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 2,540 million euros 3,189 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 25%.
According to the last data point published, Zambia per capita debt in 2016 was 692 euros766 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 740 euros 821 dollars, afterwards dropping by 48 euros 55dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 205 euros258 dollars .
The position of Zambia, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 121 in the list of debt to GDP and 47 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
