In 2017 Zambia public debt was 14,366 million euros 16,229 million dollars, has increased 2,8863,521 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 63.1% of Zambia GDP, a 2.43 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 60.67% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Zambia debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 2,249 million euros 3,083 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 21.93%.
According to the last data point published, Zambia per capita debt in 2017 was 840 euros949 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 692 euros 766 dollars, afterwards rising by 148 euros183 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 177 euros242 dollars .
The position of Zambia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 127 in the list of debt to GDP and 54 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
