In 2019 Zambia public debt was 19,673 million euros22,024 million dollars, has increased 2,4521,686 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 94.5% of Zambia GDP, a 17.17 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 77.33% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Zambia debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 2,258 million euros 3,150 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 20.52%.
According to the last data point published, Zambia per capita debt in 2019 was 1,074 euros1,202 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 969 euros 1,144 dollars, afterwards rising by 105 euros58 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 167 euros233 dollars .
The position of Zambia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 161 in the list of debt to GDP and 57 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
