In 2017 Yemen public debt was 18,331 million euros 20,708 million dollars, has decreased 1,867 1,650 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 84.28% of Yemen GDP, a 4.69 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 79.59% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Yemen debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 6,383 million euros 8,748 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 40.41%.
According to the last data point published, Yemen per capita debt in 2017 was 611 euros691 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 693 euros 767 dollars, afterwards dropping by 82 euros 76dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 286 euros392 dollars .
The position of Yemen, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 156 in the list of debt to GDP and 41 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
