In 2017 Yemen public debt was 18,137 million euros 20,490 million dollars, has decreased 902 584 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 76.2% of Yemen GDP, a 8.17 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 68.03% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Yemen debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 6,383 million euros 8,748 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 40.41%.
According to the last data point published, Yemen per capita debt in 2017 was 605 euros684 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 654 euros 723 dollars, afterwards dropping by 49 euros 39dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 286 euros392 dollars .
The position of Yemen, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 151 in the list of debt to GDP and 41 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
