In 2019 Yemen public debt was 15,426 million euros17,269 million dollars, has increased 608231 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 76.53% of Yemen GDP, a 1.99 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 74.54% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Yemen debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 8,990 million euros 12,539 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 49.84%.
According to the last data point published, Yemen per capita debt in 2019 was 487 euros546 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 481 euros 568 dollars, afterwards rising by 6 euros22 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 380 euros529 dollars .
The position of Yemen, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 140 in the list of debt to GDP and 35 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
