In 2019 Vietnam public debt was 127,640 million euros142,893 million dollars, has increased 15,50110,457 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 43.37% of Vietnam GDP, a 0.21 percentage point fall from 2018, when it was 43.58% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Vietnam debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 33,668 million euros 46,961 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 36.35%.
According to the last data point published, Vietnam per capita debt in 2019 was 1,323 euros1,481 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 1,185 euros 1,399 dollars, afterwards rising by 138 euros82 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 387 euros539 dollars .
The position of Vietnam, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 71 in the list of debt to GDP and 69 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
