In 2019 Sweden public debt was 168,959 million euros 189,150 million dollars, has decreased 13,739 26,617 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 35.1% of Sweden GDP, a 3.7 percentage point fall from 2018, when it was 38.8% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Sweden debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 132,924 million euros 185,402 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 40.9%.
According to the last data point published, Sweden per capita debt in 2019 was 16,516 euros18,489 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 17,859 euros 21,091 dollars, afterwards dropping by 1,343 euros 2,602dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 14,231 euros19,849 dollars .
The position of Sweden, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 45 in the list of debt to GDP and 157 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
