Portugal national debt goes up

In 2024 Portugal public debt was 270,723 million euros293,025 million dollars, has increased 8,8749,814 million since 2023.

This amount means that the debt in 2024 reached 94.9% of Portugal GDP, a 2.8 percentage point fall from 2023, when it was 97.7% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Portugal debt. It has risen since 2014 in global debt terms, when it was 229,391 million euros 304,824 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 132.5%.

According to the last data point published, Portugal per capita debt in 2024 was 25,445 euros27,541 dollars per inhabitant. In 2023 it was 24,610 euros 26,618 dollars, afterwards rising by 835 euros923 dollars, and if we again check 2014 we can see that then the debt per person was 22,067 euros29,324 dollars .
