In 2018 Mauritius public debt was 8,111 million euros 9,579 million dollars, has increased 352813 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 66.25% of Mauritius GDP, a 1.98 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 64.27% of GDP.

According to the last data point published, Mauritius per capita debt in 2018 was 6,407 euros7,567 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 6,134 euros 6,929 dollars, afterwards rising by 273 euros638 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,734 euros4,021 dollars .
The position of Mauritius, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 137 in the list of debt to GDP and 139 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
