In 2016 Mauritania public debt was 4,243 million euros 4,697 million dollars, has decreased 51 67 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 98.75% of Mauritania GDP, a 0.29 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 98.46% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Mauritania debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 2,000 million euros 2,511 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 82.59%.
According to the last data point published, Mauritania per capita debt in 2016 was 987 euros1,092 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 1,027 euros 1,139 dollars, afterwards dropping by 40 euros 47dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 677 euros850 dollars .
The position of Mauritania, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 167 in the list of debt to GDP and 60 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
