In 2017 Malaysia public debt was 153,728 million euros 173,666 million dollars, has increased 1,8565,558 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 55.16% of Malaysia GDP, a 1.47 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 56.63% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Malaysia debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 58,220 million euros 79,791 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 39.91%.
According to the last data point published, Malaysia per capita debt in 2017 was 4,801 euros5,423 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 4,801 euros 5,314 dollars, afterwards has remained stable, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,148 euros2,944 dollars .
The position of Malaysia, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 107 in the list of debt to GDP and 125 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
