In 2018 Malaysia public debt was 168,649 million euros 199,175 million dollars, has increased 14,94025,530 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 55.57% of Malaysia GDP, a 1.15 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 54.42% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Malaysia debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 64,781 million euros 95,280 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 39.36%.
According to the last data point published, Malaysia per capita debt in 2018 was 5,208 euros6,150 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 4,800 euros 5,423 dollars, afterwards rising by 408 euros727 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,347 euros3,452 dollars .
The position of Malaysia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 108 in the list of debt to GDP and 126 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
