In 2019 Kenya public debt was 52,956 million euros59,284 million dollars, has increased 8,1936,419 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 62.14% of Kenya GDP, a 1.9 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 60.24% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Kenya debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 10,920 million euros 15,231 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 41.1%.
According to the last data point published, Kenya per capita debt in 2019 was 1,113 euros1,245 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 963 euros 1,137 dollars, afterwards rising by 150 euros108 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 290 euros404 dollars .
The position of Kenya, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 121 in the list of debt to GDP and 58 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
