In 2017 Kenya public debt was 38,453 million euros 43,441 million dollars, has increased 4,3785,724 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 54.81% of Kenya GDP, a 1.61 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 53.2% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Kenya debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 8,947 million euros 12,262 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 38.37%.
According to the last data point published, Kenya per capita debt in 2017 was 774 euros874 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 703 euros 778 dollars, afterwards rising by 71 euros96 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 251 euros343 dollars .
The position of Kenya, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 106 in the list of debt to GDP and 51 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
