The national debt increased in Germany

In 2022 Germany public debt was 2,561,674 million euros2,701,170 million dollars, has increased 66,136267,520 million since 2021.

This amount means that the debt in 2022 reached 66.1% of Germany GDP, a 2.9 percentage point fall from 2021, when it was 69% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Germany debt. It has risen since 2012 in global debt terms, when it was 2,216,705 million euros 2,849,802 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 80.7%.

According to the last data point published, Germany per capita debt in 2022 was 30,366 euros32,020 dollars per inhabitant. In 2021 it was 29,981 euros 35,665 dollars, afterwards rising by 385 euros3,645 dollars, and if we again check 2012 we can see that then the debt per person was 27,529 euros35,391 dollars .

The position of Germany, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2022 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 119 in the list of debt to GDP and 170 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
