In 2016 Egypt public debt was 291,034 million euros 322,145 million dollars, has increased 26,30828,431 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 96.9% of Egypt GDP, a 8.44 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 88.46% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Egypt debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 77,259 million euros 97,006 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 85.92%.
According to the last data point published, Egypt per capita debt in 2016 was 3,227 euros3,571 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 2,974 euros 3,300 dollars, afterwards rising by 253 euros271 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,070 euros1,343 dollars .
The position of Egypt, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 165 in the list of debt to GDP and 112 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
