In 2017 Egypt public debt was 216,096 million euros 231,138 million dollars, has decreased 74,866 12,986 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 92.62% of Egypt GDP, a 10.54 percentage point fall from 2017, when it was 103.16% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Egypt debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 76,263 million euros 113,954 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 66.76%.
According to the last data point published, Egypt per capita debt in 2018 was 2,066 euros2,383 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 2,280 euros 2,575 dollars, afterwards dropping by 214 euros 192dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,030 euros1,515 dollars .
The position of Egypt, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 165 in the list of debt to GDP and 93 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
