In 2021 Egypt public debt was 318,406 million euros376,644 million dollars, has increased 32,05450,308 million since 2020.
This amount means that the debt in 2021 reached 93.5% of Egypt GDP, a 3.85 percentage point rise from 2020, when it was 89.65% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Egypt debt. It has risen since 2011 in global debt terms, when it was 129,757 million euros 180,419 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 72.83%.
According to the last data point published, Egypt per capita debt in 2021 was 3,165 euros3,744 dollars per inhabitant. In 2020 it was 2,846 euros 3,244 dollars, afterwards rising by 319 euros500 dollars, and if we again check 2011 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,612 euros2,241 dollars .
The position of Egypt, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2021 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 155 in the list of debt to GDP and 104 in debt per capita, out of the 190 we publish.
