Cyprus national debt goes up

In 2002 Cyprus public debt was 7,340 million euros6,968 million dollars, has increased 679987 million since 2001.

This amount means that the debt in 2002 reached 60.5% of Cyprus GDP, a 3.2 percentage point rise from 2001, when it was 57.3% of GDP.

According to the last data point published, Cyprus per capita debt in 2002 was 10,284 euros9,764 dollars per inhabitant. In 2001 it was 9,441 euros 8,478 dollars, afterwards rising by 843 euros1,286 dollars,

The position of Cyprus, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2002 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 107 in the list of debt to GDP and 159 in debt per capita, out of the 183 we publish.
