In 2019 Cyprus public debt was 20,958 million euros 23,462 million dollars, has decreased 298 1,642 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 95.5% of Cyprus GDP, a 5.1 percentage point fall from 2018, when it was 100.6% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Cyprus debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 10,139 million euros 14,142 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 54.3%.
According to the last data point published, Cyprus per capita debt in 2019 was 23,927 euros26,787 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 24,268 euros 28,660 dollars, afterwards dropping by 341 euros 1,873dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 12,378 euros17,264 dollars .
The position of Cyprus, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 170 in the list of debt to GDP and 167 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
