In 2017 Cyprus public debt was 18,725 million euros 21,153 million dollars, has decreased 693 340 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 97.5% of Cyprus GDP, a 9.1 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 106.6% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Cyprus debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 9,370 million euros 12,842 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 53.5%.
According to the last data point published, Cyprus per capita debt in 2017 was 21,905 euros24,747 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 22,716 euros 25,144 dollars, afterwards dropping by 811 euros 397dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 12,070 euros16,542 dollars .
The position of Cyprus, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 167 in the list of debt to GDP and 166 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
