In 2018 Cyprus public debt was 21,258 million euros 25,106 million dollars, has increased 2,4443,852 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 102.5% of Cyprus GDP, a 6.7 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 95.8% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Cyprus debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 8,659 million euros 12,735 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 45.6%.
According to the last data point published, Cyprus per capita debt in 2018 was 24,598 euros29,050 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 21,770 euros 24,593 dollars, afterwards rising by 2,828 euros4,457 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 10,865 euros15,980 dollars .
The position of Cyprus, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 173 in the list of debt to GDP and 168 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
