In 2018 China public debt was 5,729,759 million euros 6,766,845 million dollars, has increased 732,3051,121,221 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 50.64% of China GDP, a 3.85 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 46.79% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of China debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 845,350 million euros 1,243,340 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 27%.
According to the last data point published, China per capita debt in 2018 was 4,106 euros4,849 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 3,595 euros 4,061 dollars, afterwards rising by 511 euros788 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 637 euros936 dollars .
The position of China, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 95 in the list of debt to GDP and 120 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
