In 2017 China public debt was 4,996,732 million euros 5,644,808 million dollars, has increased 516,861686,039 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 46.96% of China GDP, a 2.78 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 44.18% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of China debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 756,576 million euros 1,036,887 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 29.04%.
According to the last data point published, China per capita debt in 2017 was 3,595 euros4,061 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 3,240 euros 3,586 dollars, afterwards rising by 355 euros475 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 573 euros785 dollars .
The position of China, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 87 in the list of debt to GDP and 115 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
