In 2019 China public debt was 7,307,910 million euros8,181,205 million dollars, has increased 999,654731,154 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 57.05% of China GDP, a 3.2 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 53.85% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of China debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 1,262,577 million euros 1,761,042 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 34.57%.
According to the last data point published, China per capita debt in 2019 was 5,220 euros5,844 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 4,521 euros 5,339 dollars, afterwards rising by 699 euros505 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 946 euros1,320 dollars .
The position of China, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 104 in the list of debt to GDP and 125 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
