In 2017 China public debt was 4,998,052 million euros 6,765,793 million dollars, has increased 518,1711,119,494 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 50.46% of China GDP, a 3.67 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 46.79% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of China debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 756,575 million euros 1,242,392 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 27%.
According to the last data point published, China per capita debt in 2018 was 4,178 euros4,858 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 3,596 euros 4,062 dollars, afterwards rising by 582 euros796 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 636 euros936 dollars .
The position of China, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 94 in the list of debt to GDP and 120 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
