In 2016 China public debt was 4,494,674 million euros 4,975,155 million dollars, has increased 339,936365,473 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 44.32% of China GDP, a 3.25 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 41.07% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of China debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 560,801 million euros 704,142 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 25.38%.
According to the last data point published, China per capita debt in 2016 was 3,251 euros3,598 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 3,022 euros 3,353 dollars, afterwards rising by 229 euros245 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 427 euros536 dollars .
The position of China, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 77 in the list of debt to GDP and 111 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
