In 2016 Chile public debt was 47,537 million euros 52,619 million dollars, has increased 9,56410,488 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 21.04% of Chile GDP, a 3.77 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 17.27% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Chile debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 6,154 million euros 7,727 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 4.99%.
According to the last data point published, Chile per capita debt in 2016 was 2,613 euros2,892 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 2,109 euros 2,340 dollars, afterwards rising by 504 euros552 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 377 euros473 dollars .
The position of Chile, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 17 in the list of debt to GDP and 104 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
