Public debt went up in Cameroon

In 2017 Cameroon public debt was 11,676 million euros13,185 million dollars, has increased 1,8672,331 million since 2016.

This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 36.54% of Cameroon GDP, a 4.43 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 32.11% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Cameroon debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 2,410 million euros 3,304 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 13.8%.

According to the last data point published, Cameroon per capita debt in 2017 was 475 euros537 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 410 euros 454 dollars, afterwards rising by 65 euros83 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 129 euros176 dollars .

The position of Cameroon, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 57 in the list of debt to GDP and 38 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
