In 2018 Bhutan public debt was 2,237 million euros 2,642 million dollars, has decreased 21 91 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 102.38% of Bhutan GDP, a 5.59 percentage point fall from 2017, when it was 107.97% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Bhutan debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 558 million euros 821 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 63.6%.
According to the last data point published, Bhutan per capita debt in 2018 was 2,966 euros3,503 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 3,029 euros 3,422 dollars, afterwards dropping by 63 euros 81dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 807 euros1,187 dollars .
The position of Bhutan, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 175 in the list of debt to GDP and 106 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
