In 2017 Bhutan public debt was 2,264 million euros 2,558 million dollars, has increased 79140 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 106.31% of Bhutan GDP, a 7.89 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 114.2% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Bhutan debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 523 million euros 717 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 70.34%.
According to the last data point published, Bhutan per capita debt in 2017 was 2,804 euros3,167 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 2,739 euros 3,031 dollars, afterwards rising by 65 euros136 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 771 euros1,056 dollars .
The position of Bhutan, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 176 in the list of debt to GDP and 106 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
