In Turkmenistan, CO2 emissions during 2017 have fallen 0.047 megatons, 0.07% compared to 2016.
CO2 emissions in 2017 were 66.565 megatons, making Turkmenistan is the 134th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Turkmenistan, have decreased in 2017, in which they have been 11.56 tons per inhabitant.
Finally, it is interesting to observe the behavior f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Turkmenistan, has emitted 0.81 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, a lower figure than in 2016. Turkmenistan is one of the least efficient countries in environmental terms, as it is among the countries that send the most CO2 into the atmosphere for every $ 1,000 of GDP.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have grown since 2007, while per capita emissions have decreased and, on the contrary, CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
However, in the last five years, total emissions have decreased in Turkmenistan, as have emissions per capita, then the situation is improving.
