In 2017, CO2 emissions in Tanzania have grown 1.026 megatons, 9.34% compared to 2016.
CO2 emissions in 2017 were 12.016 megatons, making Tanzania is the 87th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Tanzania, have increased in 2017, in which they have been 0.21 tons per inhabitant.
Tanzania is one of the countries with the lowest CO2 emissions per inhabitant.
Regarding evolution f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Tanzania, has emitted 0.09 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, the same as in 2016.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have grown since 2007, as have per capita emissions and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
Total carbon dioxide emissions have also increased in the last five years, as have per capita emissions, then the situation continues to worsen.
