In 2022, CO2 emissions in Austria have fallen 4.379 megatons, 6.68% compared to 2021.
CO2 emissions in 2022 were 61.175 megatons, making Austria is the 132th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Austria, have decreased in 2022, in which they have been 6.94 tons per inhabitant.
Regarding evolution f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Austria, has emitted 0.12 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, a lower figure than in 2021.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have decreased since 2012, as have per capita emissions and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
Total carbon dioxide emissions have also decreased compared to 2017, although per capita emissions have increased in this period.Click on the following link to see the ranking of CO2 emissions by countries and in the Economy of Austria to see all the information we publish about Austria.
