Suicides fell in Slovenia

By 2008, suicides in Slovenia increased by 26 people to at 408 suicides In Slovenia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Slovenia there were 20.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.96 suicides per 100,000 people.

Slovenia is a country with a high rate of suicide.

Of the 408 recorded suicide cases in 2008, 324 were men suicides and 84 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 32.6 per 100,000 men and for women 8.2 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Slovenia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 10 homicides in Slovenia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 40.8 suicides.
