Suicides decreased in New Zealander

In 1979 around 302 suicides occurred in New Zealander, 20 less than in 1978.

New Zealander reported 9.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 13.17 self-harm per 100.000 people.

New Zealander has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 302 recorded suicide cases in 1979, 213 were men suicides and 89 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 13.5 per 100,000 men and for women 5.6 per 100,000 female.
