In 2009 occurred 1,855 suicides in Morocco. This year, 120 fewer people committed suicide than in 2008. In 2009, on average 5 Moroccans committed suicide every day.

Of the 1,855 recorded suicide cases in 2009, 1,216 were men suicides and 639 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 7.56 per 100,000 men and for women 4 per 100,000 female.
