Morocco - Intentional self-harm

By 2001, suicides in Morocco increased by 51 people to at 2,453 suicides In 2001, on average 7 Moroccans committed suicide every day.

In Morocco there were 8.56 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.88 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 2,453 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 1,644 were men suicides and 809 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 11.36 per 100,000 men and for women 5.6 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Morocco suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 543 homicides in Morocco, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 4.5 suicides.
