Suicides grow in Kyrgyzstan

By 2014, suicides in Kyrgyzstan increased by 31 people to at 485 suicides In Kyrgyzstan, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Kyrgyzstan there were 8.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.71 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 485 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 376 were men suicides and 110 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 13.14 per 100,000 men and for women 3.69 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kyrgyzstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 320 homicides in Kyrgyzstan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.5 suicides.
