Japan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 25,667 recorded suicide cases in 1986, 16,499 were men suicides and 9,168 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 27.6 per 100,000 men and for women 14.8 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
