There are 17 suicides per day in Iran

By 2003, suicides in Iran increased by 58 people to at 6,035 suicides In 2003, on average 17 Iranians committed suicide every day.

In Iran there were 8.97 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 6,035 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 3,492 were men suicides and 2,543 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.14 per 100,000 men and for women 7.59 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Iran suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,803 homicides in Iran, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.3 suicides.
