Suicides remained unchanged in Cabo Verde

In 2003 around 39 suicides occurred in Cabo Verde, as occurred in 2002.

Cabo Verde reported 8.57 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 39 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 26 were men suicides and 13 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 11.13 per 100,000 men and for women 5.39 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cabo Verde suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 15 homicides in Cabo Verde, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.6 suicides.
