Burundi - Intentional self-harm

In 2003 occurred 618 suicides in Burundi. This year, 28 more people committed suicide than in 2002. In Burundi, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Burundi had 8.52 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 618 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 461 were men suicides and 157 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 13.64 per 100,000 men and for women 4.51 per 100,000 female.
