In May, vehicle registrations in Australia fell by 0.96% with respect to May of 1996. In total, 59,498 cars were registered and 662,661 new cars were sold in the last twelve months, 3.32% more than the year before.
The breakdown of car sales figures for the month of May is:
- Commercial vehicles sold: 15,660, 4.43% more than in May of 1996.
- Passenger cars regitrations: 43,838, which represents a figure of 2.75% less than in May of 1996.
