The minimum wage goes up in Uruguay

In 2018, the national minimum wage in Uruguay remained fixed at €466.9 per month, that is 5,603 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Uruguayan pesos, which is the official currency in Uruguay, we can see that, this year, it was 13,430 Uruguayan pesos and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 5,510 Uruguayan pesos per month from the previous year, 69.57%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2013 which was 6.6%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
