Peru rises the national minimum wage

In 2016, the national minimum wage in Peru remained fixed at €229.1 per month, that is 2,749 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Soles, which is the official currency in Peru, we can see that, this year, it was 850 Soles and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 100 Soles per month from the previous year, 13.33%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2015 which was 4.1%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Peru is in 61 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 114 of the list.
