If we look at the minimum salary in Indian rupees, which is the official currency in India, we can see that, this year, it was 4,576 Indian rupees and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 416 Indian rupees per month from the previous year, 10%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2016 which was 2.2%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
