Ghana rises the national minimum wage

In 2016, the national minimum wage in Ghana remained fixed at €50.3 per month, that is 604 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Ghana cedi, which is the official currency in Ghana, we can see that, this year, it was 208 Ghana cedi and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 26 Ghana cedi per month from the previous year, 14.29%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2015 which was 17.7%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Ghana is in 102 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 114 of the list.
