Belize rises the national minimum wage

In 2012, the national minimum wage in Belize remained fixed at €248.6 per month, that is 2,983 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Belize dollars, which is the official currency in Belize, we can see that, this year, it was 643.5 Belize dollars and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 39 Belize dollars per month from the previous year, 6.45%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2011 which was 2.5%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Belize is in 46 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 102 of the list.
