In 2016 Turkey public debt was 220,886 million euros 244,499 million dollars, has increased 6,7806,949 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 28.31% of Turkey GDP, a 0.67 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 27.64% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Turkey debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 189,289 million euros 237,671 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 46.5%.
According to the last data point published, Turkey per capita debt in 2016 was 2,767 euros3,063 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 2,719 euros 3,017 dollars, afterwards rising by 48 euros46 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,715 euros3,408 dollars .
The position of Turkey, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 30 in the list of debt to GDP and 109 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
