In 2019 Tunisia public debt was 25,128 million euros28,130 million dollars, has decreased 1,1882,949 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 71.83% of Tunisia GDP, a 5.63 percentage point fall from 2018, when it was 77.46% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Tunisia debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 12,694 million euros 17,706 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 40.69%.
According to the last data point published, Tunisia per capita debt in 2019 was 2,133 euros2,387 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 2,257 euros 2,666 dollars, afterwards dropping by 124 euros 279dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,206 euros1,683 dollars .
The position of Tunisia, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 140 in the list of debt to GDP and 90 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
