In 2017 Taiwan public debt was 180,797 million euros 206,255 million dollars, has increased 7,1222,008 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 35% of Taiwan GDP, a 0.51 percentage point fall from 2017, when it was 35.51% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Taiwan debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 95,465 million euros 138,630 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 33.26%.
According to the last data point published, Taiwan per capita debt in 2018 was 7,415 euros8,750 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 7,670 euros 8,665 dollars, afterwards dropping by 255 euros 85dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 4,091 euros6,018 dollars .
The position of Taiwan, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 47 in the list of debt to GDP and 143 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
