In 2019 Taiwan public debt was 178,743 million euros200,103 million dollars, has increased 3,8516,444 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 32.77% of Taiwan GDP, a 1.21 percentage point fall from 2018, when it was 33.98% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Taiwan debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 102,978 million euros 143,634 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 36.71%.
According to the last data point published, Taiwan per capita debt in 2019 was 7,573 euros8,478 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 7,414 euros 8,756 dollars, afterwards rising by 159 euros278 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 4,454 euros6,213 dollars .
The position of Taiwan, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 38 in the list of debt to GDP and 142 in debt per capita, out of the 188 we publish.
