In 2016 Taiwan public debt was 173,727 million euros 192,298 million dollars, has increased 585197 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 36.23% of Taiwan GDP, a 0.32 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 36.55% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Taiwan debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 102,478 million euros 128,671 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 33.12%.
According to the last data point published, Taiwan per capita debt in 2016 was 7,380 euros8,169 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 7,370 euros 8,177 dollars, afterwards rising by 10 euros8 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 4,480 euros5,624 dollars .
The position of Taiwan, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 51 in the list of debt to GDP and 143 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
