In 2017 Taiwan public debt was 180,797 million euros 204,246 million dollars, has increased 7,07011,948 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 35.65% of Taiwan GDP, a 0.58 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 36.23% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Taiwan debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 95,465 million euros 130,834 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 32.05%.
According to the last data point published, Taiwan per capita debt in 2017 was 7,670 euros8,665 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 7,380 euros 8,169 dollars, afterwards rising by 290 euros496 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 4,158 euros5,699 dollars .
The position of Taiwan, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 47 in the list of debt to GDP and 144 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
