In 2019 Suriname public debt was 3,055 million euros3,420 million dollars, has increased 818778 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 92.51% of Suriname GDP, a 16.22 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 76.29% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Suriname debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 436 million euros 609 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 15.69%.
According to the last data point published, Suriname per capita debt in 2019 was 5,254 euros5,882 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 3,792 euros 4,479 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,462 euros1,403 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 833 euros1,162 dollars .
The position of Suriname, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 160 in the list of debt to GDP and 126 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
