In 2016 Senegal public debt was 8,055 million euros 8,916 million dollars, has increased 1,0461,139 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 60.57% of Senegal GDP, a 3.68 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 56.89% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Senegal debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 1,629 million euros 2,046 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 21.84%.
According to the last data point published, Senegal per capita debt in 2016 was 523 euros579 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 463 euros 514 dollars, afterwards rising by 60 euros65 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 141 euros177 dollars .
The position of Senegal, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 120 in the list of debt to GDP and 39 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
