Public debt went up in Norway

In 2018 Norway public debt was 146,684 million euros173,305 million dollars, has increased 10,38119,380 million since 2017.

This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 39.66% of Norway GDP, a 1.02 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 38.64% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Norway debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 126,656 million euros 221,044 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 48.2%.

According to the last data point published, Norway per capita debt in 2018 was 27,530 euros32,526 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 25,739 euros 29,066 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,791 euros3,460 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 26,391 euros46,058 dollars .

The position of Norway, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 65 in the list of debt to GDP and 177 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
