In 2016 Oman public debt was 20,123 million euros 22,274 million dollars, has increased 10,51411,612 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 33.32% of Oman GDP, a 17.85 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 15.47% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Oman debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 2,564 million euros 3,220 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 8.65%.
According to the last data point published, Oman per capita debt in 2016 was 5,019 euros5,556 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 2,544 euros 2,822 dollars, afterwards rising by 2,475 euros2,734 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 960 euros1,206 dollars .
The position of Oman, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 41 in the list of debt to GDP and 128 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
