In 2018 Oman public debt was 34,703 million euros40,984 million dollars, has increased 6,7249,376 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 51.39% of Oman GDP, a 6.63 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 44.76% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Oman debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 1,960 million euros 2,882 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 4.73%.
According to the last data point published, Oman per capita debt in 2018 was 7,541 euros8,906 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 6,136 euros 6,932 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,405 euros1,974 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 704 euros1,035 dollars .
The position of Oman, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 91 in the list of debt to GDP and 139 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
