In 2017 Oman public debt was 29,402 million euros 33,216 million dollars, has increased 10,04611,791 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 46.9% of Oman GDP, a 14.42 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 32.48% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Oman debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 2,114 million euros 2,897 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 6.88%.
According to the last data point published, Oman per capita debt in 2017 was 7,114 euros8,037 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 4,828 euros 5,344 dollars, afterwards rising by 2,286 euros2,693 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 775 euros1,063 dollars .
The position of Oman, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 81 in the list of debt to GDP and 141 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
